The 3 things every homeowner tells us they're worried about.

"Once they have my deposit, the calls will stop."

You'll always know where your project stands. You tell us up front how often you want to hear from us: daily, every few days, or weekly, and that's exactly what you get from the first sketch to the final board. You'll never have to chase anyone for an answer about your project.

"The number they quoted won't be the number I pay."

You'll approve a detailed, itemized price before anyone touches your deck, and that's what you'll pay. It only changes if you decide to change something. No mid-build surprises, no line items you never agreed to. We guarantee our price.

"I'll end up having to run the project myself."

You hired a builder so you wouldn't have to babysit one. Building a custom deck should feel like you're being taken care of. Every project gets a dedicated project manager who keeps the build on schedule, handles the permits and inspections, and makes sure you always know exactly where things stand.

3 Reasons why homeowners trust Ardent

Person working on wooden deck construction over water, installing planks and beams.

1. Our Heritage

Ardent is run by two brothers, Roman and Dima, who've spent nearly a decade mastering hardwood craftsmanship before bringing it to the backyard. They learned early that the difference between good work and great work lives in the details most people never see, and they've built their name on never cutting corners. When you hire Ardent, you work with them directly. They're on the calls, they're on your job site, and their name is on every deck they build.

"We were going in blind, but their patience and guidance were exceptional, and the final results were beyond our expectations. Our only regret is not meeting them earlier. They are worth every penny and more."

David S

"I've worked with them on several high-end custom residential projects, and their carpentry is truly exceptional. Dima and Roman bring real skill and precision to every job, and it shows in the final product. I'd recommend them to anyone looking for top-tier work."

Jeffrey J

"Completed at the highest level. Professional, clean, fast, and reasonably priced. Communication with the company was excellent. I highly recommend them."

Working with us is simple

Here is the process that we follow for every project:

1. You tell us what you're picturing

We walk the space with you and talk through how you actually want to use it. You'll get clear answers on what's possible, what it'll realistically cost, and whether we're the right fit. If we're not, we'll tell you instead of ghosting.

2. You get mockup and price before committing

We turn your ideas into a visual design with an itemized price covering materials, structure, and timeline. You'll know exactly what you're getting and what it'll cost before we start. The price we quote will only change if you decide to change something.

3. We handle permits and inspections

Every deck we build is permitted, engineered, and inspected, and you keep the stamped drawings. You'll never chase the city, schedule an inspector, or have to worry if your deck is properly built.

4. You watch it get built, without managing it

Your project manager runs the crew and the schedule and updates you as often as you asked. Your yard gets cleaned at the end of every day, your landscaping gets protected, and the framing you'll never see gets the same care as the boards you will.

5. You get a beatiful deck, we stay reachable

We walk the finished deck together and everything on your list gets handled before we call it done. Then we're always a phone call away. After that, the structure is guaranteed for five full years. If something isn't right, give us a call and we'll make it right.

Is ardent right for you?

We do our best work for a certain kind of homeowner. Here's an look at who that is, and who it isn't.

We're probably a great fit if:

  • You want your deck done right, and you understand that quality is an investment
  • You value a builder who communicates openly and treats your home with care
  • You're looking for a long-term, well-built outdoor space, not the cheapest option
  • You want to be part of the process and work directly with the people building it

We're probably not the right fit if:

  • The lowest price is the most important factor in your decision
  • You need the job done as fast as possible, quality second
  • You'd rather not be involved and just want someone to handle it with no input from you
  • You're looking for a quick patch or a temporary fix rather than a deck built to last
  • Your budget doesn't have room for premium materials and craftsmanship

Frequently asked questions

What does a custom deck actually cost?

It depends on size, materials, and how custom you go, so there's no one-size answer. What we can promise is clear pricing before any work begins, with no surprises along the way. Most projects start in the $50K range, and we'll give you a more accurate number once we understand what you’re looking for.

Why do quotes from different builders vary so much?

Usually it comes down to what's underneath. Cheaper bids often cut costs on framing, fasteners, and materials you can't see, which is exactly where a deck fails first. We'll walk you through what's in our quote so you can compare easily.

How long does a deck take to build?

Most projects run 2-4 weeks once we break ground, depending on size and complexity. Our Streamlined path moves faster since the design is already nailed down, while fully custom builds take longer by nature. We'll give you a realistic timeline upfront and keep you posted the whole way.

Do you handle permits and inspections?

Yes. We manage the permitting and inspection process so your deck is built to code and done by the book. It's one less thing for you to worry about.

What areas do you serve?

We build across the Greater Seattle area and the Eastside. If you're not sure whether you're in our area, just ask.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes, fully licensed, bonded, and insured. If anything ever goes wrong on your property, you're protected, and we're happy to share documentation before we start.
